We are for gardeners who have any size garden - from a window box to an acre.

We visit public and private gardens including those with restricted opening, e.g. by appointment or open only to recognised groups. We hold talks and show films during the winter months as well as the occasional Winter Walk.

We also meet occasionally to swap surplus plants and visit members'gardens. 

All you need is a love of plants.

For visits outside of the immediate Selby/Sherburn area we try to car share where possible. Information is sent out about individual visits 2 – 3 weeks prior to the event and individuals are asked if they want or can offer a carshare.

At the moment we are enjoying our successes and failures through the medium of a WhatsApp group, to join in contact Margaret Fiddes.

We have also started to visit members gardens with successful trial visits to Diane Lee's garden and Susan Ferguson's garden. Who will be next? watch this space, offers welcome.

September 22nd 2021 at 10:30am - Plant swap - Hillam

We will be holding a plant swap at Susan Fergusons wonderful Garden in Hillam.

10.30 start, £1 a head to pay for refreshments.

There are no rules, you can bring plants, take away plants, do both or do neither.  Completely up to you. We just ask that you take home any plants that you brought that are still left at the end. 

Come for a natter, a cuppa  and a look round the garden. 

Please let Marjorie Smith know if you'll be there for catering purposes. I will let you know the address if you've not been before.

October 29th 2021 at 2:30pm - Talk - Winter interest - Fairburn Vilage Hall

On Friday 29th October we will have a talk from Michael Myers of Harrogate entitled Winter Interest - Flowers, Foliage and Bark.

2.30 in Fairburn Village Hall, £5 a head to include coffee/tea and biscuits. 

For those who have not been before, Fairburn Church Hall is in Silver Street, Fairburn. WF11 9JA. When you pass the Church on your right the hall is a little further on. There is ample parking, mainly to the rear of the building

January 10th 2022 at 10:30am - AGM and get together - Milford Hotel - Watermill restaurant

We plan to have our AGM and annual get together on Monday 10th January.  This will be held at the Milford Hotel in the Watermill restaurant at 10.30 am, £3 a head for coffee/tea and biscuits.  

This is your opportunity to tell the committee what events you enjoy, possibly what you don't enjoy and what else you would like to do as a group 2022. We always welcome new ideas so thinking caps on. 

Please tell Marjorie Smith if you plan to be there.
